To maximise the benefits of your acupuncture and herbal medicine treatment, it’s important that we make sure your diet and lifestyle are supporting your overall health and enabling you to reach your health goals.
We will spend time discussing how to optimise your diet and lifestyle through a Chinese Medicine lens during and at the end of treatment, and I will send a follow-up email with any recommendations I have made (so you don’t have to worry about remembering anything and can just relax and enjoy your acupuncture treatment).
Chinese Medicine focuses on creating balance wherever possible in the diet and lifestyle, to mirror the body’s efforts to create balance internally at all times and fit with each individual person, based on their needs.
Diet therapy in Chinese Medicine is specific to the condition being treated, but the mainstays are to eat whole foods and prioritise warm, wet and cooked foods wherever possible, because these are most easily recognised and digested.
Optimising your lifestyle, especially in a high-stress world, typically means balancing a fast-paced and full work and social life with deep rest and relaxation, and a sedentary lifestyle with adequate movement.
